Honestly, between the sticky August humidity and the relentless buzzing around our back porches, it’s way too easy to forget that the heavy lifters are the ones keeping Mount Pleasant looking lush are not us. They are the bees, beetles, hummingbirds, moths, and, even those bizarre little metallic-green flies working double shifts. Butterflies too, obviously.
For millions of years, plants and critters have been quietly keeping each other alive in this messy, beautiful partnership. So this month, we’re throwing a proper neighborhood fiesta to give 'em some well-deserved credit: the very first Mt. Pleasant Pollinator Fest!
It’s basically a big love letter to the living world right in our backyard and a reminder of what community care actually looks like. Whether you're raising a curious toddler, obsessing over native perennials, or just looking for a reason to hang out outside with a cool drink, you’ll fit right in.
The Vibe: Live music, local poetry reads, and art scattered throughout the day.
For the Kids (and young-at-heart): Face painting, interactive pollinator games, and hands-on science experiments.
For the Plant & Food Nerds: Local honey tastings, guided walk-through of wild and cultivated greens, plus movement and play sessions for all ages.
