Our Mission
At Picturing Community, we are on the look out for great projects happening in our neighborhoods. We use photography, video, and creativity to share stories of positive impact. Stories of people, companies, and nonprofit organizations all working together for everyone's benefit. We hope you enjoy the site and thank you for visiting!
Projects We Love To Photograph
There are many different types of public arts projects that can be found in a neighborhood. Murals, performance art, pop-up galleries, large-scale installations, and many more.
When it comes to promoting the natural world and taking care of our shared resources, we are able to find projects that focus on coastal and wetland restoration, urban parks, tree plantings, and community gardens.
Cleanup projects in our community help remove trash, restore parks, and help remove litter from our waterways, parks, and roadways. All in service of helping keep our environments clean and healthy.
The Story and the Process Matter
Successful projects can have a wonderful impact on the communities we line in. At Picturing Community, we are interested in sharing the stories of what it takes to get to a final project. The vision, the pitch, and the design phase are all part of the process. By telling a wider story, we hope to draw in more people to get involved with the process in their local neighborhoods.

At Picturing Community, we are here to document community focused projects that connect communities, make our neighborhoods safe, and have an overall positive impact on the place we live.
There are many different types of projects that include public art, placemaking, neighborhood cleanup, and tree plantings, just to name a few. These projects require time, knowledge, resources, and the willingness to participate by individuals, non-profits, governments, foundations, and corporations.
We are here to celebrate the people and organizations that are doing the hard work. We also love to capture all aspects of the process, from beginning to completion, and beyond.
